Gospel Claws

Bio

Gospel Claws is an indie rock band based in Tempe, Arizona, in the Phoenix area, formed in 2007. Guitarist and vocalist Joel Marquard, previously of Dear and the Headlights, started the group with vocalist and keyboardist Sloan Walters; the Wikipedia lineup has also included Scott Hall, John Mulhern, Jef Wright, and Bob Hoag. Their records mix bluesy indie rock and desert folk, notably the 2010 album C-L-A-W-S and 2012's Put Your Sunshine Away on Common Wall Media. They have played Phoenix rooms including the Crescent Ballroom, where a 2012 set marked that second album.
