The Get Up Kids
Kansas City
Bio
The Get Up Kids are a second-wave emo band from Kansas City, formed on October 14, 1995. Matt Pryor sings and plays guitar, Jim Suptic plays guitar, Rob Pope plays bass, and Ryan Pope plays drums; their first show supported Mineral on the night of a high school prom. Something to Write Home About (1999) remains their most widely acclaimed album and a landmark of that emo wave. They broke up in 2005, reunited in 2008, and released Problems in 2019.
