Cursive
Omaha
Bio
Cursive is an indie rock band from Omaha, Nebraska, formed in 1995 and long associated with Saddle Creek Records. Tim Kasher (vocals, guitar), Matt Maginn (bass), and later Ted Stevens (guitar, vocals) shaped a tense mix of emo and post-hardcore that broke through with Domestica (2000) and The Ugly Organ (2003). The band has kept pushing its arrangements, adding keyboards, cello, and brass on later records, and in 2024 released Devourer. Their own site, cursivearmy.com, describes a current lineup built around Kasher, Maginn, and Stevens with Patrick Newbery, Megan Siebe, Pat Oakes, and founding drummer Clint Schnase.
