Atmosphere

Bio

Atmosphere is a hip-hop duo from Minneapolis: rapper Slug (Sean Daley) and producer Ant (Anthony Davis). Formed in 1996, they came up in the Twin Cities scene and released Overcast! in 1997, then helped build the independent label Rhymesayers Entertainment. Slug’s narrative rhymes and Ant’s productions, drawing on soul, funk, and hip-hop sampling, run through more than a dozen albums, including When Life Gives You Lemons, You Paint That Shit Gold (2008) and So Many Other Realities Exist Simultaneously (2023). They remain a hometown live act, from outdoor Minneapolis dates such as Taste of Minnesota to club shows.
