The Steam Donkeys

Buffalo

Bio

The Steam Donkeys are a Buffalo honky-tonk and Americana band started in 1991 by singer-songwriter Buck Quigley and drummer John Brady after a French Ticklers rehearsal, according to their Buffalo Music Hall of Fame biography. The Hall of Fame, which inducted them in 2018, describes an early alternative-country sound that mixed honky-tonk with a punk edge, original songs by Quigley, and records including the cassette Songs From a Stolen Guitar, the 1994 CD Cosmic Americana produced by Robby Takac, and Little Honky Tonks on Landslide Records. They also ran the Americanarama festival in Buffalo.
