Niis

Bio

NIIS, pronounced “nice,” is a four-piece from Los Angeles and the Bay Area that mixes punk, hardcore, lo-fi garage, and early grunge. The band’s own bio says vocalist Mimi leads songs drawn from living in a male-dominated scene, including “Fuck You Boy,” and cites Rudimentary Peni, Crass, and Subhumans. They introduced themselves with the 2020 EP Not Niis and the 2022 EP Must Be…, and have shared bills with GBH, FEAR, and Adolescents. In 2026 they signed to Rise Records for the EP Play Niis and joined Movements and Midrift at Franklin Music Hall.
