Mariachi El Bronx

Bio

Mariachi El Bronx is the mariachi project of the Los Angeles punk band The Bronx, formed in 2002 by vocalist Matt Caughthran, guitarist Joby J. Ford, and others. Around 2006, asked to play an acoustic set, the group instead wrote brass-centered Mexican mariachi songs; the first Mariachi El Bronx album came out in 2009, followed by II (2011), III (2014), and a later IV. Wikipedia lists four mariachi albums alongside the Bronx's punk records. (Wikipedia, The Bronx (band); AllMusic biography by Matt Collar)
