Bio
Dr. Jazz is the stage name of Buffalo reed player Brian Bauer, who leads the trad-jazz group also billed as Dr. Jazz & the Jazzbugs. His GigSalad booking page says he has played the Buffalo area for more than fifty years, including dates with Leon Redbone, Bonnie Raitt, and John Hammond Jr., and that his first love is 1920s jazz on clarinet and saxophones from bass to sopranino. JazzBuffalo has called him a regional treasure and noted that his duo album Medical Record with Tyler Westcott is the most extensive recording of his reed work as a leader.
