Desert Dwellers

Bio

Desert Dwellers is an electronic project founded in 1999 by Amani Friend and Treavor Moontribe out of the Moontribe gatherings in the deserts of Southern California. Their site describes a sound that fuses deep bass, world instrumentation, and psychedelic textures, with dozens of albums and remixes and stages at Symbiosis, Ozora, Lightning in a Bottle, Boom, Envision, Shambhala, and Burning Man. In 2025 Friend stepped back from touring to focus on the studio, and producer and engineer Sarkis Mikael joined the live project under the banner “Music Beyond Borders.” The group’s Still Seeing Things tour plays Brighton Music Hall in Allston.
