Bio
Black Country, on this list next to New Road, is the first half of the English band name Black Country, New Road, not a separate Lawrence group. The band formed in Cambridge in 2018 out of Nervous Conditions, named for a road in England's Black Country. Founding members included Tyler Hyde, Lewis Evans, Georgia Ellery, May Kershaw, Charlie Wayne, and Isaac Wood, with guitarist Luke Mark added in 2019. For the First Time (2021) was nominated for the Mercury Prize; Ants from Up There (2022) followed Wood's departure. (Wikipedia, Black Country, New Road)
